Chickasaw Country brings live music to Lake Texoma on July 4
OKLAHOMA CITY – Officials with Chickasaw Country announced the Texoma Tailgate and Tunes concert on Lake Texoma in Kingston, Oklahoma, July 4. Oklahoma-based band The Damn Quails and Texas-based band Whiskey Myers will entertaining all evening beginning at 7:30 p.m. performing southern rock music. The outdoor concert will be located one mile west of Texoma Casino in Kingston, Oklahoma, at 1400 Highway 70 East.

The Damn Quails are comprised of Gabriel Marshall and Bryon White, both singers and songwriters. Their debut album, Down the Hatch, was released in 2011, and The Damn Quails have been booking shows ever since. The Damn Quails, often described by veteran musicians as a young band with old souls, introduce sounds from the harmonica and fiddle in their music.

Whiskey Myers started in a small town in east Texas called Elkhart by band members Cody Cannon and Cody Tate, whom both play guitar and sing. Before long, the two added guitarist John Jeffers, and moved to Tyler, Texas. Soon after, Jeff Hogg, drummer, and Gary Brown, bass, were added to the band. The bands debut album, Road of Life, defined Whiskey Myers’ music similar to that of “Skynyrd.”

The Damn Quails, followed by Whiskey Myers will take the stage July 4 at Lake Texoma in Kingston. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. with gates opening at 6:00 p.m. for the all-ages show.
