BREAKING: Robbery suspect on the run in Sherman



Sherman Police are searching for a suspect involved in a bank robbery earlier this morning.

Authorities responded to a robbery call at the Bank of Texas on W. Washington at around 9:30 a.m.

Police say a white man walked up to an employee at the bank and said he had a weapon.

The employee gave the man an unspecified amount of cash, then he left the bank on foot and fled north into a wooded area near the railroad tracks.

The suspect is described as a white man and approximately 40-45 years old. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap, University of Texas t-shirt and blue jean shorts.

Police say officers responded quickly, but the man had already escaped.

Anyone with information on this suspect is asked to call the Sherman PD immediately. Also, authorities are asking that anyone who might see the suspect should not try and confront him.
