Woman arrested on suspicious of murdering her own mother

A Pottsboro woman was arrested yesterday after being accused of murdering her own mother last year.

Shelia Mae Wolfe was arrested for the murder of her mother, Marlene Cannon.

Authorities say Wolfe lived with Cannon at the time of the assault. Cannon was found on December 16 last year brutally beaten and died at a Plano hospital two days after the assault.

Police say Wolfe was arrested for the assault, but they are still investigating the manner.
Wolfe remains in the Grayson County Jail on a $1 million bond.

Love County man sentenced in double homicide case

Aaron Carlile, who has been in court for the past three days on two charges of murder, was sentenced yesterday in a Love County courtroom.

After four hours of deliberation yesterday afternoon, a jury found that the 65-year-old Carlile was guilty of two counts of first degree murder and recommended life without parole for each count. Carlile could now face life in prison. Formal sentencing will be July 29.

Carlile is accused of shooting and killing his father-in-law, Sunny Culwell, and his sister, Almenia Culwell, while they were fixing a fence on family property in rural Love County last May.

Carlile was arrested on two counts of first degree murder and has maintained his plea of not guilty throughout the entire process.

One flown to OKC hospital after fiery crash near Sulphur

One person was mediflighted to an Oklahoma City hospital after a fiery crash yesterday southwest of Sulphur.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 18-year-old Malorie Pope of Davis was headed west on County Road 3 when she crested a hill and saw an oncoming Jeep.

Pope swerved off the road, rolled, hit a tree and the car caught fire.

Pope was flown by medical helicopter to OU Medical Center in serious condition.

Troopers say there is no evidence that the Jeep entered Pope’s lane and the driver was unhurt.

It is thought that Pope’s speed may have played a factor in the accident which is still under investigation.
